Senior Manager – Accountancy Regulations & Professional Practice

The Role
My client a leading multinational company are currently seeking to hire a Senior Manager for a permanent opportunity within their Department of Professional Practice Accounting team. Location is negotiable and flexible working arrangements are offered.
You need to have:
A professional accounting qualification (Chartered Accountant or equivalent)
Several years’ experience in technical accounting and financial reporting
A keen interest in the interpretation and practical application of accounting standards, legislation, and regulations
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent research skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, drive, and enthusiasm
An interest in rolling out training and providing best in class standards are adhered to throughout organisation.
Core responsibilities will be:
Resolving problems through the interpretation and application of accounting standards (primarily IFRS but local Irish, UK and US GAAP would be an advantage), company legislation and regulations
Technical review of annual and interim reports and financial statements of public companies, prior to their publication
Providing guidance on non-financial information, especially ESG, disclosure requirements
Contributing to the Companies Audit Quality agenda
Development and delivery of internal accounting and financial reporting training
Presentation from time to time at external events such as client financial reporting seminars
Representing the company on committees of professional bodies
Keeping abreast of emerging developments in accounting standards, legislation and regulations
Salary €75,000 - €90,000 (DOE)
