SENIOR MANAGER RISK MANAGEMENT - AUDITOR INDEPENDENCE TEAM


  • Are you a manager or senior manager with extensive technical experience of interpreting ethical and regulatory matters such as the IAASA/FRC Ethical Standard and/or the SEC independence rules?

  • Are you a manager or senior manager with technical experience interpreting regulations or legislation?

  • Are you a manager or senior manager with technical experience in accounting and a strong knowledge of accounting standards, particularly IFRS 10 and IAS 28?

  • Do you currently work in the technical or risk management department of an accountancy practice or have responsibility for regulatory compliance matters working in industry or a legal practice?

We need you to have:

  • A professional accounting or legal qualification (Chartered Accountant/Solicitor or equivalent)

  • Several years’ experience post qualification

  • A keen interest in the interpretation and practical application of accounting standards, legislation and regulations

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent research skills

  • Commercial awareness with wide industry exposure.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical issues in a non-technical way

  • Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills

  • Good understanding of risk management in a professional services environment

  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency

  • Good team player with a willingness to learn and share knowledge


Your work will be varied. Some of your core responsibilities will be:

  • Resolving problems through the interpretation and application of the IAASA/FRC Ethical Standard, the SEC independence rules and other ethical and regulatory compliance matters

  • Identifying related entities and affiliates through the interpretation and application of accounting standards (primarily IFRS but local Irish, UK and US GAAP would be an advantage), company legislation and regulations

  • Development and delivery of internal training on the SEC independence rules and the IAASA/FRC Ethical Standard?

  • Keeping abreast of emerging developments in independence, accounting standards, legislation and regulations


Salary: €70,000 - €90,000 (DOE) + Bonus & Bens.
