LEAD ANALYST ACCOUNTANT
My client a leading Irish bank is seeking a Lead Analyst accountant to join their Capital Management and Resolution Planning team. The lead analyst accountant will take ownership and drive the timely and accurate delivery of a wide range of high-profile regulatory initiatives central to the safety and soundness of the bank. These regulatory programs predominantly include the annual resolution planning requirements of the Bank as well as any other related strategic regulatory initiatives. The Lead Analyst will also take ownership of the Banks capital reporting and capital forecasting to senior management and Board and also to the Regulator as required.
The successful candidate is expected to become an ambassador for the Bank with regards to the Banks capital management, capital forecasting and resolution planning regulatory requirements. You will have a unique opportunity to play an integral role in one of the Bank’s key strategic priorities and have significant exposure to senior management. You will have a broad understanding of many key facets including its capital requirements, legal structure, product offerings, functional teams and income statement and balance sheet.
The Capital Reporting and Planning team is responsible for the delivery of capital reporting and forecasting and also ensuring that the Bank meets it’s resolution planning requirements. As such, the Lead Analyst will take a lead role in driving both processes through internal governance prior to successful and timely submission to the Regulator.
The Lead Analyst will become a subject matter expert and point of contact for all capital reporting and forecasting and resolution planning related requirements.
You will manage a team of two, supporting their development and ensuring output is of a high quality.
Your Team:
The Capital Reporting and Planning team is responsible for producing a broad range of management information, forecasts and stress tests to support senior management decision making. The primary responsibilities include:
(i) Preparation of the Group’s multi-year financial forecast;
(ii) The annual Group budget and quarterly re-forecasts;
(iii) Aggregated liquidity and capital forecasts;
(iv) Group-level stress testing;
(v) Resolution Planning, and
(vi) Produce monthly management reporting packs.
Additional responsibilities include financial modelling activities and producing financial papers for submission to senior management.
Your Responsibilities:
This position will have a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and will require strong communication skills in order to facilitate the successful execution and implementation of the Banks capital reporting and resolution related requirements. Communicating complex ideas through the development of concise presentations to senior management and regulators is also critical.
This individual’s responsibilities would, at a minimum, include:
Work closely with other members of the team to ensure alignment between various regulatory submissions including the Banks MTP, Stress Testing, Recovery and Resolution Planning;
Project managing cross-disciplinary work streams to form capital projections and to develop responses to regulatory requirements;
Develop and maintain effective relationships across a broad range of stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Demonstrated ability to work closely with senior representatives across the bank;
Ongoing awareness of evolving regulatory resolution planning requirements;
Timely delivery of key regulatory requirements;
Development and quantification of key capital risk sensitivities;
Co-ordinate effective work streams to deliver the resolution work plan;
Ownership of the excel modelling required to report actual and forecast capital ratios;
Drafting regulatory submissions with specific focus on capital and resolution related requirements;
Creating and delivering presentations for senior management at Committee level;
Be an ambassador for all aspect of Capital and Resolution Planning, from both internal and external stakeholder management perspectives, to support the Bank in meeting all Central Bank deliverables to the highest standard in a controlled and cost effective manner;
Drive the timely delivery of capital and resolution submissions to relevant Committee and Board for approval;
Production and continuous improvement of the capital reporting and forecasting processes; and
Manage a team of two Analysts with responsibility for mentoring and ensuring high quality outputs
Requirements:

Previous experience in a finance function within a financial institution preferred
Strong understanding of performance drivers and balance sheet dynamics
Understanding of relevant Capital and Liquidity Regulatory framework
Strong problem solving capabilities
Highly motivated with the ability to work on own initiative
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Holder of a relevant professional qualification in accounting (ACCA/ACA/CIMA/Other)

Salary: €60,000-€65,000
