IT MANAGER - DUBLIN 24

Purpose:

The IT Manager will play an instrumental role in setting out and implementing the IT strategy in the company, have a strong project management skill set, a practical approach to solutions and a proven track record in delivering change through IT solutions.


This is a hands-on role which allows the IT Manager to oversee and shape the IT direction of the business and will be actively involved in the future growth of the business.


There is a strong emphasis on designing and developing digital strategy for the business and it’s business partners.



  • Maintain organization's IT effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for all business systems.

  • Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.

  • Management of IT projects in conjunction with the relevant functions end to end to tight deadlines with comprehensive testing and deployment plans within approved budgets.

  • Management of key business systems, EPOS & On-Line platform to ensure continuous uptime, timely issue resolution and prioritization of enhancements with the business.

  • Management of the IT aspect of business process change from clarity of changes required with the business to the development of functional and technical specification, developments with third party providers, testing, development of training materials and ultimate deployment.

  • Develop, document and implement policies and procedures for IT systems and associated data.

  • Management of IT budget for the business.

  • Development and delivery of training materials for the maintenance of IT systems in the group

  • Keeping current with emerging IT and web technologies, and security best practice

  • Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented

  • Preserves assets by implementing IT security and disaster recovery procedures both internally and externally with our suppliers to sure the integrity of the business at all times.

  • Proactive engagement and collaborate with all business departments on the use of technology to deliver business process improvements through continuous improvement.    

  • Management of all hardware and software requirements for the business in conjunction with third party providers.

  • Daily Management and support of IT issues across the organization as they occur, utilizing our ticketing support system to track and manage the problems.     

  • Monthly report on the performance of IT systems & projects

  • Management of external IT suppliers across the organization including negotiations of contracts

Person Specification

ESSENTIAL:


  1. A proven track record in IT management, graduate calibre with appropriate IT or business professional qualification

  2. Knowledge of change management processes

  3. Knowledge of Office business applications

  4. Significant knowledge and experience of strategic planning, implementing and managing complex IT.

  5. Knowledge of Agile Software development methodologies.


DESIRABLE:

  1. Background in software development, experience of managing technical and development teams.

  2. Working knowledge of Prince II/ project management.



EXPERIENCE


ESSENTIAL:


  1. Proven experience of delivery of successful IT systems development and technology projects, budget management including development of business cases and inspirational leadership.

  2. Experience of change management, proven experience of developing, gaining support organisation wide for and implementing robust systems and solutions.

  3. Experience of working in a large, complex organisation as the IT Senior Manager.

  4. Evidence of strong inclusive team working approach and understanding of and ability to work with non-IT staff to translate organisation and customer needs into successful service delivery.

  5. Experience of managing 3rd party supplier relationships.


DESIRABLE:

Experience of IT software development projects Experience of business analysis tools and processes.


Qualifications or experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Programming, Computer Science, Engineering or related [industry] field

  • Experience hiring, managing, and retaining a team of talent technology professionals

  • 6+ years’ management experience in an IT environment

  • 2+ years’ experience working with [key industry systems] systems

  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating with business leaders to drive effectiveness of the IT department

  • 3 + years’ Experience providing IT solutions in an [industry] environment preferred

  • PMP, ITIL, SCRUM certification desirable

Salary: €70,000 - €80,000 + Bonus & Pension
