HEAD OF MORTGAGE OPERATIONS

We are delighted to exclusively partner with Credit Union Mortgage Services to bring an exciting and unique opportunity to the market for an experienced Head of Mortgage Operations to join and lead Credit Union Mortgage Services newly created mortgage offering.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation that puts its members first with a strong community ethos and to drive and grow a competitive mortgage offering from day one.

Credit Union Mortgage Services is a collaborative initiative by the Credit Union sector to offer competitive mortgage products to the communities throughout Ireland.

The new company will be staffed by experienced mortgage professionals operating countrywide in hybrid roles.


Reporting to the Board of Directors, the main responsibilities of the Head of Mortgage Operations are to:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and mortgage servicing activities.

  • Draft and present strategies / plans / policies for discussion and Board approval.

  • Assist the Board of Directors to achieve the strategic objectives of the Company.

  • Report monthly to the Board of Directors on key performance metrics.

  • Co-ordinate the activities of the Management Team.

  • Lead and motivate a team of Credit Union Mortgage Relationship Managers.

  • Ensure appropriate policies, procedures, systems, and internal controls are implemented and maintained.

  • Utilise IT systems and reports to set key performance measures.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory and other regulatory requirements.

  • Deliver and promote standard mortgage products to Credit Unions.

  • Represent the Company with Credit Unions, industry bodies, service providers and regulatory authorities.


The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • A minimum of ten years’ experience operating at a senior level in the mortgage industry.

  • A third level degree and / or relevant professional qualification.

  • A detailed knowledge and understanding of:

(a) the Irish mortgage market and the regulatory environment governing the provision of mortgage services.

(b) the operating principles and ethos of Credit Unions.

  • A strong customer focus with an emphasis on service delivery and business growth.

  • Demonstrated people management and motivational skills.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including team management.

  • Strong ability to organise effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly.

  • Leadership skills and the ability to manage stakeholder and third-party relationships.

  • Ability to work on their own initiative and lead others to achieve agreed objectives.
