GOVERNANCE & ASSURANCE MANAGER

Overview

My client a leading financial services provider is currently going through a period of growth and is seeking to hire a Governance & Assurance Manager to help lead a growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone coming from a banking background with exposure to governance, assurance, regulatory reporting, remediation and compliance & audit.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of governance & assurance associates to ensure sufficient oversight, governance, and assurance of all processes, regulatory reporting, remediation activity and operational change arising out of 1st line assurance, compliance monitoring and internal audit findings.

  • People Management, performance management and providing leadership and excellent coaching and development plans to continually enhance and upskill the team

  • Acting as link between 1st, 2nd and 3rd lines to ensure operational excellence, sufficient management oversight and testing of risks, execution of controls and alignment throughout the firm.

  • Engaging with stakeholders throughout the business to ensure that key deliverables are implemented within agreed timelines.

  • Driving the implementation of regulatory or legislative projects or changes.

  • Working with senior stakeholders to ensure that actions and requirements identified through the departments internal projects, assurance programmes, governance activities and any oversight provided to ensure issues are resolved are actioned in a timely and effective manner.

  • Supporting the implementation, monitoring, and assurance of the various regulatory frameworks

  • Monitoring the functionality of the control environment within the first line to ensure that sufficient oversight and testing is in place, conducting control testing and providing feedback where required.

  • Conducting assurance reviews and sampling teams output to verify performance and internal team quality and controls are effective.

  • Providing regular reviews and oversight of activity to produce reporting and management information to the Senior Manager for alignment with the various forums, including: Assurance Forum, Regulatory Reporting Forum, Rate Forum, IRMC, COO forum, the Irish Risk Committee, and Irish Board, as necessary.

  • Oversight of the annual & monthly assurance and control programmes conducted on the 1st Line’s policies and procedures (Including lettering suite) and in line with conducted by the firm.


The Successful Candidate will have:

  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement with a high motivation for success and delivery within timeliness.

  • Excellent communication skills experienced and confident in presentation of information and reporting to senior management.

  • Strong Leadership skills, people management and ability to influence stakeholders required.

  • Effective prioritisation and organisational skills, ability to analyse information and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven experience to develop and deliver on continuous risk and control, assurance, regulatory and incident framework.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications especially MS Teams
