FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT - PERM  & CONTRACT

My client a leading financial services provider which operates in a number of different sectors is currently seeking a Financial Accountant with good financial reporting and accounting experience ideally with a banking background.

The clients preference is for someone to join on a permanent basis but is also open to someone joining on a short term rolling contract to assist within their year end reports.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing the day-to-day finance function, overseeing and assisting with daily tasks being completed by other members of the finance team - this includes acting as cover for these team members in the event of their absence

• Financial Management and reporting - deliver monthly/quarterly and annual management reporting, ensuring accurate financial data is submitted

• Ownership of balance sheet controls and reconciliations

• Participate in statutory filings (Statutory Accounts, VAT, Statistics returns)

• Participate in group consolidation process

• Ensure proper financial controls maintained across the businesses

• Work with team to drive process improvement initiatives.

• Maintaining Finance process notes

• Liaising with external parties including tax advisers, external audit and internal audit

• Liaising with external auditors as part of the annual audit process

• Ad-hoc activities as identified by management

Requirements:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with Post Qualification Experience in Financial Services (ideally banking)

• Strong attention to detail is crucial

• Strong Excel skills and experience using an ERP system

• Strong time-management and organisational skills are essential

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work on own initiative and towards shared team goals

• Thorough knowledge of the end-to-end accounting procedures

• In depth technical accounting skills (IFRS)

• Experience using Blackline preferable.

Salary: €50,000 - €60,000
