FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

FS Recruitment are recruiting for a Financial Accountant on behalf of a leading motor finance lender based in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong financial control and statutory reporting experience to join a high-performing finance team within a well-known banking group. You’ll gain exposure to motor finance, regulatory reporting and audits while working closely with senior stakeholders in Dublin and the UK.

 

The Opportunity

You’ll join the Finance finance team, part of the Motor business within a major international banking group. The role sits in Dublin and involves day-to-day interaction with the local management team and the wider finance function across Ireland and the UK.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll own key month-end activities, balance sheet reconciliations, regulatory returns and statutory accounts, while also supporting process improvements and ad-hoc projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control

  • Prepare, post and reconcile month-end journals across the entities.

  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations using Group templates to ensure full substantiation.

  • Prepare key monthly regulatory returns and assist with quarterly FINREP reporting.

  • Review existing processes, identify potential risks and help refine controls.

  • Assist in developing and updating process notes in line with Group policy.

Reporting & Audit

  • Act as a key contact for external auditors and internal teams during interim and year-end audits.

  • Support the preparation of statutory accounts, including documentation to support financial statement disclosures.

  • Produce and maintain robust supporting information to substantiate balances.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with colleagues in the finance team, the wider Dublin motor business and UK-based finance teams.

  • Build strong working relationships and contribute to a positive, collaborative culture.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant – ACA / ACCA / CIMA.

  • Strong financial control background.

  • Previous experience preparing statutory accounts.

  • Experience using SAP.

  • Prior exposure to regulatory reporting.

Salary €70,000 - €80,000
