Business Partner – Qualified Accountant (12 Month FTC)
Overview
My client a leading Irish bank are currently seeking a recently qualified accountant to join there rapidly expanding team.
The role will predominately deal with management reporting and investor relations.
This is a very exciting time to join the bank and offers excellent exposure and very flexible working.
This position will support a range of business functions across the Bank with responsibility for the ongoing management, analysis and reporting of costs and capital expenditure.
In addition, you will be expected to provide insightful analysis of performance and support key decision making by Business Managers and Senior Management.
The Business Partnering & Cost Optimisation team is responsible for the monitoring, tracking and reporting of operating costs and capital expenditure across the Bank, including setting of the annual cost, capital expenditure and FTE Budgets against which performance is measured.
In addition, the team plays a key role in the Group’s investment and strategic decision making process, supporting senior management in the evaluation of proposed initiatives, including the management and oversight of the costs and capital expenditure associated with these investments.
Responsibilities:
Support the delivery of a risk assured, performance focused, operationally excellent Business Partnering and Cost Optimisation function while embedding a culture of quality service delivery to all customers & partners
Understand each of the key business and cost drivers of the business function, articulate and discuss insights with colleagues of varying degrees of seniority, up to and including executive level, and challenge conversations with key partners/colleagues
Support the operational delivery of the budgeting and forecasting
Proactively suggest and produce MI that will drive greater efficiency across the team
Prepare presentations for key audiences, identifying key trends /issues /recommendations and provide support to the business community as required
Deliver timely, accurate and action orientated operating cost and capital expenditure reporting, incorporate forward looking advice and guidance that provides financial and business insight
Support the delivery of all internal reporting obligations required on a weekly/monthly/half yearly and annual basis, ensuring high standards of accuracy and service excellence
Assist with the provision and validation of detailed inputs for relevant budget and forecast models
Build robust relationships with the Finance senior management team and other key partners and customers
Essential Requirements:
Holder of a relevant professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.). Recently qualified accountants will be considered.
Experience within the banking sector is preferable.
Consistent record of engaging with and delivering for Finance teams and Senior Management
Sound commercial knowledge and excellent communication skills both verbal and written - adapts communication style to audience requirements
Enthusiastic, committed and proactive approach to problem solving
Self-directed, highly motivated with the ability to work on own initiative
Team oriented displaying ability to work cross functionally and a willingness to be flexible to assist in achieving the overall goals of the team
Result-oriented with experience working in a fast paced environment and to strict timelines
Desired
Advanced Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint required. Essbase, Hyperion will be advantageous
Excellent report writing skills with a good communication style
Experience of interpreting business and financial information to support/enable business decisions
Business partnering/management reporting and analysis experience is desirable
